What are the benefits of fitting new PVC windows?

Savings

Windows and doors are the biggest causes of escaping heat in a home, costing you more money on heating bills during winter. Double Glazing can save you money. For example, by replacing your old windows with our double glazed windows and doors you can save as much as 14% on your annual bills!  More than this, you will also be reducing your carbon footprint as you use less energy and reduce the amount of heat escaping into the atmosphere.  So you save money and the planet too!  That's something to feel good about.

Low Maintenance

Unlike many timber windows, PVC-U windows and doors do not suffer from rot and need regular patching, filling and re-painting. PVC Windows, PVC Doors and PVC Conservatories are in fact very low maintenance, needing little more than a quick wipe over.

Improved security
All our PVC-U window, door and conservatory systems incorporate extra security features including special locks, to protect your home.  Giving you piece of mind that you are secure in your home.

Reduced noise
Do you live on a busy street or road? Does passing noise irritate you? The latest double glazed PVC-U windows can significantly decrease the amount of noise 'transmitted' through your windows for a quieter, peaceful home.

Better weather performance
Modern PVC-U windows are tested to withstand gale force conditions. This means no more drafts by the curtains or damp creeping around rotting wooden frames.

Do I need planning permission?

Sometimes (but rarely) planning permission may be required in order to fit replacement windows. This is particularly the case in "listed buildings" and "conservation areas". Also if you are "converting" a flat window into a "bow" or "bay" window you may need planning permission. You may also need planning permission for altering an existing window to a French doors if you have been in your property for less than 12 months.  If you have any specific concerns, we can discuss them with you and give you advice on the best way to proceed. You can also check this your self with the local authority.

If I ask you for a quote, do I have to pay for it and use you to do the work?

NO (on both parts).  We will provide you with a quote free of charge, if you then decide that you don't want the work done or choose another tradesmen, that is you choice.

Do your windows, doors and conservatories have a guarantee?

Yes.  All the windows, doors and conservatories come with a manufacturers guarantee, periods vary but are typically a 10 year guarantee.  We will provide specific information on guarantees provided for the units of your choice before you buy.
